M2-Advanced Training CEU Information


This course will emphasize a Graston Technique® examination and treatment approach for musculoskeletal dysfunction/mechanical pain that can be applied in all patient cases.

The M2-Advanced Training course objectives are designed to:

  • Extend interest and commitment to professional development using Graston Technique® (GT) therapy.
  • Advance knowledge of GT examination procedures for assessing musculoskeletal dysfunction while introducing the principles of regional interdependence and functional testing.
  • Enhance clinical decision-making skills during the application of GT.
  • Advance repertoire of GT interventions for the management of musculoskeletal dysfunction/mechanical pain.
  • Develop a higher level of skill acquisition for utilizing GT while introducing movement, resistance, weight bearing, and provocation patterns to treatment.
  • Review major GT concepts covered in M1 (eight fundamental strokes, ergonomics, scar & edema techniques, physiology of GT, if necessary).
  • Provide an opportunity for participants to discuss patients that have challenged them since they started incorporating instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) into their practice.
  • Introduce advanced GT skills incorporating IASTM with movement, with resistance, in weight bearing, during provocation, and with therapeutic exercise typically prescribed for common musculoskeletal pathologies.
  • Review selected case studies that illustrate advanced clinical applications of IASTM.
  • Share most recent research findings pertaining to IASTM.


M2-Advanced Training is multi-disciplinary and is available to Certified Athletic Trainers, Acupuncturists, Physical Therapists and Assistants, Occupational Therapists and Assistants, Doctors of Chiropractic and Physicians who have successfully completed the M1-Basic Training course. Complete M2-Advanced Training Schedule

Faculty to student ratio 1:14. Maximum attendance per course is 24 participants.

Various teaching methods will be utilized consistent with the various levels of complexity of the stated learning objectives in order to assure their attainment at course completion. Teaching methods include lecture/discussion and instructor demonstration followed by laboratory practice. During laboratory practice sessions, small ratios of instructor-to-participants are available so that participants can receive ample instructor feedback as they practice. Teaching materials used include the M2-Advanced Training (M2) PowerPoint presentation, prepared case analyses, videos of selected Graston Technique® therapy techniques, and the M2 Training Manual including its handouts.

Training Fee: M2-Advanced Training – $695 USD (plus applicable tax and brokerage)


Rescheduling notice received via email, fax, or letter 15 days prior to the scheduled training is subject to a $50 administrative fee. The balance will be applied toward the same training within the next 12 months. Cancellation with request for a refund is subject to a $100 fee. Cancelling or rescheduling with less than 15 days’ notice will result in loss of 50 percent of the training fee, and the balance will be applied to the same course any time with the next 12months. Registrants are responsible for any increase in fees. Failure to attend without notice will result in complete loss of fees. Graston Technique, LLC(GT-LLC) reserves the right to cancel a training course at any time and will issue a full refund. Registration fees are subject to change.

GT-LLC reserves the right to alter dates, times, locations, content, and faculty to accommodate unexpected needs. GT-LLC cannot be responsible for expenses incurred by registrants if the program is cancelled or altered.

Graston Technique, LLC (BOC AP# P3257) is approved by the Board of Certification, Inc. to provide continuing education to Athletic Trainers. As of Oct. 8, 2018, this (M2) program is eligible for a maximum of 4.25 EBP Category hours/CEUs and 8.75 Category A hours/CEUs. ATs should claim only those hours actually spent in the educational program.

The Board of Certification (BOC) sets the standards for the practice of athletic training. BOC is the only accredited certifying body for athletic trainers in the United States.

The BOC Approved Provider program was established to provide certified athletic trainers with an extensive network of continuing education providers. GT-LLC is proud to be associated with the BOC, meet BOC standards, and more importantly, meet the standards of participating certified athletic trainers.


M2 trainings through 4/5/2019 are approved by NCCAOM for 14 PE-CW PDA points.

The Florida Board of Acupuncture has approved M2 trainings from 5/10/2018 through 2/29/2020.

The following M2 trainings are also approved by the California Acupuncture Board: Pasadena, CA, February 23-24 and Livermore, CA, May 18-19, 2019.


GT courses qualify for HTCC continuing education.


Continuing education units are provided by National University of Health Sciences (NUHS).

National University of Health Sciences is recognized by the PACE program of the Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards. States approved by PACE: AK, DC, ID, IN, IA, KS, MA, MD, ME, MN, MT, NC, ND, NE, NJ, NM, NV, OH, OR, RI, SC, SD, TN, UT, VA, VT, WA, WY, Puerto Rico and Nova Scotia.

DC credits for trainings held in Minneapolis will be handled by Northwestern Health Sciences University.

DC credits not available for DCs licensed in Tennessee and Oklahoma or for the December 1-2, 2018 training in Galena, KS.

Approved for 13.5 Category B hours in California.

Chiropractors: Please contact us prior to the class to inquire about the availability of CEUs if you are licensed in a state other than where the training is taking place.


The September 22-23 training in Anchorage is approved by the Alaska Occupational Therapy Association.

For Occupational Therapists who may self-submit their certificate of completion to their state, GT-LLC will provide the course outline and additional information necessary for submission to the specific state where continuing education units are required.


Graston Technique® M2 is approved through ProCert, the Federation of State Board of Physical Therapy (FSBPT), for 11 CCUs for the following states: AK, AZ, AR, CA, CO, DE, DC, GA, HI, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, MI, MN, MS, MO, MT, NE, NC, ND, OR, PA, PR, RI, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, VA, WI, and WY.

The M2 training is approved in FL through CE Broker. Approved in LA, MD (1.4 CEUs), NJ, NV (1.4 CEUs), NM, NY, OH (12.75 CEUs), OK(12.25 hrs, Category A, 201911341), and WV. Approved in TX..

GT-LLC will provide the course outline and additional information necessary for submission to the specific state where continuing education credits are required. (AL, CT, IA, ME, MA, NH, and WA)


Graston Technique, LLC is proud to be an NCBTMB approved provider for continuing education. Courses have not been approved for CE hours in NY.

Louisiana has approved the M2 training for 14 CEUs through 4/30/2020.
