In this short course, the functional anatomy and biomechanics of the 1st metatarsophalangeal joint (1st MTP) will be reviewed in relationship to walking and running. Assessment techniques will be demonstrated to help the participant identify dysfunction of this joint. Demonstrations of Graston Technique applications and exercise strategies to improve mobility and motor control of this joint and surrounding structures are included.
